Today has been a delightful day of discoveries. I tried a new tea called Sweet Tangerine Positive Energy by Yogi. It's absolutely delicious—uplifting in both flavor and spirit.
I stopped at a new grocery store for some bananas, and ended up in a fascinating conversation with a lovely woman about the variety of herbs they offered. She was radiating wisdom, kindness, and professionalism, with a bit of personalized spice. She also mentioned that the co-op I was shopping at, is donating some of their proceeds this month to Native American communities. It was humbling and inspiring to hear her say that.
She showed what I perceive as good judgement, a wise woman. Like the radiant Selenite.
The Symbolism and History of Selenite ✨🪽
Selenite has a long standing history among those who made history. In Greek history, Selenite is named after the moon goddess Selene. The same moon that has been observed by all cultures since the dawn of humanity. Selene and night, makes sense. Simple and standing the test of time, I love it.
Some more history for you, Sicily is actually home to abundant gypsum deposits, which selenite is formed. Here in America, you can find large gypsum deposits in Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado.
The White Sands National Park in New Mexico, is home to the largest gypsum dune field in the world, spanning over 275 square miles. If you ever get the chance to visit, I highly recommend experiencing it. There's nothing like the feeling you get when you are walking those dunes. While you're at it look into the Trinity Site that was interesting history to learn today! But the beauty of the moon, grandma, and selenite is that they still illuminate for others, radiate their own glow, love forever, and inspire new growth.
Selenite is symbolism of clarity and illumination. Just like the moon, just like grandma. Selenite has a deep connection to feminine and lunar energies. So why not incorporate selenite while you do some introspection, channel grams!
